Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) in the cooperation with Japan NGO, The Picnic Earth organized the friendship concert “Rock Concert” on Friday 27th March, 2009 at the multipurpose hall of CJCC.

We invited Japanese rock band “FUNKIST”, Mr. Mori GENTA which has experiences in performing many live concerts in Cambodia, and Ms. Yuk Thet Rotha, the famous pop singer in Cambodia to perform together on that day. This concert is focused on young generation, and it is the first time that CJCC conducted this kind of concert. On that day, many young people, university, high school students approximately 650 people participated and enjoyed their weekend evening live with this concert very much. The student who has joint this event commented that the Funkist Band has very high level of performance. Even the song in Japanese could not be understood but each melody and song attracted people with rhythm of lyric and beat sound. According to the interview by Kohsanthepheap Newspaper, many participants wished that CJCC will organize this kind of concert again, because this concert is not only for fun but for learning the new style of music, the Rock Music which it is still not known in Cambodia. On that day, many media agents (newspaper and televisions) had come to cover this event.
