The following are the 12 awarded pictures ranked in order. The top three pictures have won our grand prizes while the rest have won the supplementary prizes! (for detailed information about prize please click here)

The awarding ceremony will be conducted in early February, the exact date will be notified to winner by email or by phone.

Description: This photo was taken at Samroung Village in Kandal Province during offering food time. I saw a group of monks were standing and they were offered food by a little cute girl.

Photo Explanation: It is very interesting to have a riverboat trip along the Lower Mekong River in Stung Treng province. There are many habitats including riverine inundated forest; river channels, which are important for the migration and breeding of over 100 species of fish; deep pools, which provide refuge for seasonally quiescent fish species and Irrawaddy dolphins; and sandbars, which provide dry season roosting and breeding habitats for nesting water birds.

Photo Explanation: This boy is untying wires to tie a cattle to prevent it from eating other people’s vegetable. He always takes his cattle here to eat grass every morning after wake-up time.

Photo Explanation: The photo is about children living in Rattanakiri province. In the photo, the children are from different groups. Some are Tompoun indigenous people and others are Khmer children. They usually come to take the nature by using ox-cart. For those who are nearer, they will use bikes or walk. In Rattanakiri, wells are main sources of water supply beside ponds, river, or waterfall from the mountain.

Photo Explanation: Soil mixed with water scattering into the air makes a sound of a farmer’s life ease. Although hitting a sheaf of rice is to endure longer, this farmer hopes to have rice to help his living.

Photo Explanation: This photo is taken on a road in Ksach Kadal District, Kadal Province. A man is transporting many cupboards by using his small motorcycle. He can even use a phone although the transportation is difficult.

Photo Explanation: The object is a young boy dragging crab box into the sea. The time of shooting was before lunch time around 10-11 a.m. This is a good way for Cambodian children to help the family after school or at weekends.

Photo Explanation: This is a picture of a fish market near Olympic Market. This picture shows a very common life of people at there such as sellers, buyers, motor-taxi drivers, etc. In fact, the place is a public road. They are here because they have no money to hire stores in a big market “Olympic Market”. However, it has been becoming popular among housewives.

Photo Explanation: Beside farming, Khmer people have works as a pottery modeler which is another job to help their living. In Phnom Penh, cart for clay pot-selling is seen frequently.

Photo Explanation: After a full day of fishing, they took a rest for having food and taking bath. Even though they have a difficult job, they are happy and always smile because their life is peaceful.
