| GUIDELINES FOR THE THIRD CJCC PHOTO CONTEST |
1. Purpose of the contest
CJCC hopes to deepen people’s understanding and interest in Cambodia through photographs. Entries will be utilized in CJCC Calendar of 2010. |
2. Contest themes
“Discover Cambodia”
( people living in the new environment or the beautiful scenery, nature and landscape, new style of building, life in art as found in Cambodia)
Note: Photos from film and digital cameras will be accepted. The model of camera used and the number of pixels should be written in the “Camera used” field of the entry form.

3. Persons eligible for entry
Anyone who has an interest in the new style of building, people’s lives, and discovery things in the Cambodia can enter the contest.

4. Contest period
Photos may be submitted between Monday, August 10, 2009 and Wednesday, September 23, 2009 (the contest secretariat must receive the photos before 17:00 P.M. September 23, 2009).

5. Prizes
- 1st Award (1 prize): Certificate, Digital Camera, and supplementary prize
- 2nd Award (1 prize): Certificate, Mobile Phone with Camera, and supplementary prize
- 3rd Award (1 prize): Certificate, Portable DVD Player, and supplementary prize
- General Award (9 prizes): Certificate, USB Memory, 1year CJCC Membership, and supplementary prize
- 1st Selection Selected Award ( 13 prizes): Certificate and supplementary prize

6. Announcement of prizewinners
Prizewinners will be contacted directly by the contest secretariat around the beginning of December 2009, and results will be announced on CJCC’s web site.

7. Procedure for submitting photos
Please supply the information listed below in English or Khmer on the designated entry form and attach the form to the reverse side of the photo to be submitted. Please send the photo to the address provided under “11. Contest secretariat (inquires and applications)” preferably by registered mail. When entering more than one photo, be sure to attach an entry form to each photo.
About private information
Private information entered in the entry form is in no way used for purposes other than the contest management. It will not be utilized nor browsed by third parties other than CJCC and the contest secretariat. When the use of such information is completed, all information entered in the entry form will be destroyed.

8. Rules for entry
- Entrants may only enter photos that they have taken by themselves on or after January 1, 2005. If the object of the photo is a person, please obtain the subject’s consent to the application for the contest.
- Only photos that have not been entered or presented in other contests are accepted.
- Each entry should be a color-print photograph of the 2L size or the size equivalent to cabinet photograph (13cm x 18cm) (Black-and white and sepia tone images are not eligible). Photo data that is attached to e-mails or written in CD-R and is directly sent to the contest secretariat is not accepted.
- Photos should in no way be altered. If it is discovered that a photo has been altered, all photos of that entrant will be disqualified.
- Digital photographs are recommended to have at least 4 mega pixel resolutions (Photos which can hold good quality even when enlarged in A3 size paper (about 2,048 x 1,536 pixels), JPEG format only.) Photos taken with a camera-equipped mobile phone are not accepted.
- Upon receiving notification of the prize by the contest secretariat, winners will be requested to provide the secretariat with the original film (in the form of negative or slide) in the case of film photograph and the original data (saved on CD-R) in the case of digital photograph. If an entrant fails to supply the contest secretariat with the original film or data within the fixed time, the prize will be withdrawn.
- If a photo fails to comply with the entry rules, or an entry form of a photo is incomplete or is found to contain incorrect information, the photo may be disqualified.
- A maximum of three photos per applicant only.

- Copyright of the winning photos will belong to the person who took the winning photos. CJCC, however, will reserve the right to use the winning photos in her publications, etc. for up to three years. (If CJCC obtains the winner’s consent, this limitation does not apply.) For the details, please refer to “Use of entries”.
- In principle, photos entered for the contest will not be returned. If you want the photos to be returned, please enclose a self-addressed envelope and appropriate stamps. Please note that the winning photos (print photographs) will not be returned. (The original negative, slide or data of the winning photos will be returned to the person who took the photos after necessary procedures related to deciding winners.)
- CJCC assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to photos that may occur during transit.
- Entrants may submit more than one photo, but each entrant is only eligible for one prize.
- Travel Package Prize is subject to change, however, depending upon the highest travel season.

9. Use for entries
Winning photos are planned to be used in CJCC’s public relations materials such as photo displays, publications, and calendars. (In case of using the winning photos, CJCC may make necessary alterations to them unless the intent or whole image of the photos is damaged.) If photos are utilized, the name of the person who took the photos will be displayed.
They may also be lent to media agencies or other related organizations on the condition that their use be requested as a part of introduction of the Cambodia.
If you agree on the use of your entries in description (10) on the entry form, the contest secretariat may separately request you to provide the original film or data to use entries in CJCC’s public relations materials.

10. Screening method
The primary screening committee narrows down the total number of entries to twenty five. The selected photos are then judged by the final screening committee to determine the winners. |
