Photo Title: My Village Stream

Photo Explanation: This picture was taken during Pchum Ben festival at Kamping Puoy Basin. The picture shows the water way which can be compared to Cambodia people's way of life because water provides life to crop cultivation. This stream plays an important role for national economy and is the heart of Cambodia. It seems to be the join of 4 rivers and they symbol the irrigation for Cambodia's agriculture.

Photo Explanation: When I was doing my field study at a remote village in Kampong Speu province, I observed that most of the residents are farmers. When I saw an old woman making palm sugar, I asked her permission and took her photo. Having asked her several questions, I learnt that in her village most farmers earn their living by making palm sugar besides crop cultivation. She also added that palm trees are another resource of income for her villagers.

Photo Explanation: Lake view at sunset. These are activities of peasants catching fish during dry season in a dried-out lake in Kirivong District, 100 km from Takeo provincial capital. This lake is at the border of Cambodia and Vietnam. Every year in high tide season, this lake can reserve thousands of cubic meter of water for Cambodian farmers in both dry and rainy season.

Photo Title: An Evening Life of a Countryside Boy

Photo Explanation: I was off from work, driving from rural village back to Chikreng District Center (in Siem Reap) where my office bases. I saw several children; two of whom were fishing, and two had just been off from school. I went by and talked to them. I told them I'd like to take some photos. They were shy, especially, the fishing boy and his younger sister who was there helping. I sat looking at them and at sunset for a while longer, waiting for scenes which they would be looking natural. They were looking for a meal for their family. It's also part of their recreational activities.

Photo Explanation: A little girl is sitting at a quiet place to bunch Water Lily to be a bouquet. As she allowed me to take the photo, my position was in front of her and I took the photo by holding my breath for 5 to 7 seconds.
