Welcome to the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center

Sustainable economic development is the most important issue which countries in the world are exerting their efforts and/or have strengthened their strategic plans in order to promote and enhance their countries' economic development. The economic development is not only a crucial factor for alleviating the poverty issue in the country, and for bridging the development gaps among the countries in the region, as well as in the world, but also is an important determinant for raising the value of the country. Thus, in order to develop the national economy with sustainability, the country needs to firstly build and enhance capacity of human resources with high technical and scientific skills, and then the country is developed based on competent human resource development.

For Cambodia, the civil war, political unrest, and conflicts have occurred for decades. And although the recent years have been a time of political stabilization and economic growth, Cambodia still faces a shortage of competent human resources for building and strengthening the Cambodia's economy to ensure sustainable development as countries in the world.

Therefore, in order to contribute to develop Cambodia, particularly to enhance the quality of education, the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC), which is a autonomous public administrative establishment, and is the benchmark of concerned organizations and institutions, public and private, of Japan and Cambodia , has officially operated the project since April 1 st 2004 . The CJCC is established through the unconditional grant-aid of the Government of Japan under the cooperation between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Royal Government of Cambodia.

Furthermore, the main objectives of the CJCC are to effectively train and enhance consistent human resource development to ensure the highly competent and qualitative human capital with respect to the international standard in order to effectively respond to labor market needs as well as to the recent socio-economic development in the country, and continue strengthening and expanding mutual understanding and cooperation between Japan and Cambodia through the three main activities: Human Resource Development Course, Japanese Language Course, and Exchange Program.

Through the courses which provided by famous experienced Japanese professors, foreign experts and experienced professors from other ASEAN countries, and qualified and competent Cambodian professors, the CJCC ensures that trainees will benefit in specific skills, good knowledge and know-how to contribute to improving the quality and potential of market economy in Cambodia. In addition, with the application of the international standard of education of the CJCC, trainees will be able to manage their own businesses; and they will also be able to engage in much higher level of competition in the region and the globe.

In the mean time, the CJCC would like to sincerely welcome supports, contributions for development, critical commends, and other donations including research materials, books, and etc., from local and international visitors.

Finally, the CJCC would like to warmly welcome students, businessmen, new entrepreneurs, civil servants, and so on to the CJCC to earn new skills, good knowledge, and highly modern education for your future career's development.

Director, CJCC

Welcome to the Home Page of CJCC by Naoyoshi SasakiChief Advisor

Ladies and gentlemen, how do you do? I am Naoyoshi Sasaki, Chief Advisor of CJCC, First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your cooperation and strong support for the Project Phaseand thereafter, for the formulation of the Project Phase and also would like to renew the important acknowledgement of joint collaboration among all of the Cambodian staff and the Japanese experts in CJCC.

CJCC is an important symbol of friendship and good-will of the people of Cambodia and Japan. Now, it looks as if we were navigating in the sea on the same boat, facing difficulties and problems yet achieving the objectives. With the common objectives and headed for the goal, we are making our utmost efforts to find solutions. Needless to say, in order to achieve the goal , CJCC would overcome rough sea conditions and reach  the goal in success. It requires us strong will, firm determination and  courageous commitment to the Project Phase to reach the common goal.

For the Phase of the Project, there are expectations and challenges .CJCC has already established its legal and institutional framework, therefore, it is time to strengthen technical and  financial aspect of daily operation and management.

CJCC has several objectives. One of them is to effectively train and consistently enhance human resources development for private sector development and which can contribute to enlarge opportunities for employment in the country. The other is to strengthen the capacity development of CJCC as a sustainable service-providing organization. Let me point out three points to be a sustainable service-providing organization.

  1. Potential customers and their needs to be identified
  2. CJCC service or product should be in variety and in good quality at a reasonable price.
  3. Activities and services provided by CJCC should be  attractive to invite people in general and in business to join.

I would like to work closely with CJCC staff  for CJCC being as a successful service-providing organization.

Finally, we always welcome and are glad to have your participation in our activities.

Thank you
Naoyoshi Sasaki, Chief Advisor ,CJCC
