On 22 October 2011, Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) and Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) organized “Study-in-Japan Fair” to offer Cambodian Students who wish to study in Japan to meet many university representatives from Japan directly in order to enquire detailed information on various degree programs and scholarship availabilities in Cambodia. This event was presided over by His Excellency. Ly Somony,Undersecretary of State of Ministry of Education Youth and Sport, Cambodian and Japanese university representatives, lecturers, students and other related stakeholders. Mr. Koem Oeurn, Director of CJCC noted that this event has been conducted since 2008 for the purpose of sharing information related to various degree programs and scholarship availabilities in Japan to Cambodian students and also giving a chance to Cambodian and Japanese universities to meet and discuss for a better cooperation.

There were around 730 participants most of whom are students from around 30 educational institutions such as universities, high schools and private Japanese Language schools. Most of students were very satisfied with this event since they could have a chance to know and to get a consultation directly from Japanese universities about scholarship and other degree programs. This program is supported by Embassy of Japan in Cambodia (EoJ), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), Japan Alumni of Cambodia (JAC), Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) and Honda Foundation. |
