Honda Y-E-S Award Program

Honda Young Engineer and Scientist’s Award (“Y-E-S Award”) program has been successfully launched in Vietnam in 2006, in India in 2007, in Laos and Cambodia in 2008, in Myanmar in 2014, and was introduced in Bangladesh in 2019 to support the development and promotion of young leaders to spearhead the growth of these countries in the future. The program is aimed at the balanced and sound advancement of industry and of science and technology in all of these Southeast Asian countries.

Program Outline
Stage One: Y-E-S Award

We award four brilliant undergraduate students selected from the Cambodian affiliated universities with a prize grant worth US$3,000.

Stage Two: Y-E-S Award Plus

All Y-E-S Award awardees become eligible for the Y-E-S Award Plus, a non-restricted scholarship fund if, within four years after they received the Y-E-S Award, they are admitted to either of the following:

  1. A master’s or doctoral course at a Japanese graduate school under the auspices (sponsorship) of the Japanese government. These students will receive US$10,000 as the Y-E-S Award Plus.
  2. Internship program offered by a Japanese university, research institute, or company—a program between over ten weeks. These students will receive US$7,000 as the Y-E-S Award Plus.

Additionally, if they come to Japan again after the internship for a master’s or doctoral course, they will receive a preparation fee of $3,000 as the Y-E-S Award Plus Expansion.

Application
Affiliated Universities & Eligibility
  1. Must be 3rd or 4th year student from the Faculties of Science and Faculties of Engineering of Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP)
  2. Must be 3rd or 4th or 5th year student from Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC)
  3. Must be 3rd or 4th year student from the Faculty of Agriculture Engineering, The Faculty of Agro-Industry, and The Faculty of Agronomy of Royal University of Agriculture (RUA)
  4. Must be under 25 years-old
Requirement Documents
  1. Application Form
  2. Official Academic Performance Record (GPA) from Foundation Year until now
  3. The latest assignment in Individual or Group
  4. English Proficiency, if any
Submission Documents
  1. RUPP’s students are required to submit all documents to the Internal Relations Office
  2. ITC’s students are required to submit all documents to the Office of Academic Affairs
  3. RUA’s students are required to submit all documents to the International Cooperation Office
