[Phnom Penh, Cambodia, 24 January 2025] – Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between CJCC and Keiei Juku Laos (KJL), a business association of Keiei Juku program alumni from Laos-Japan Institute (LJI).
The agreement outlines a shared commitment between CJCC and KJL to foster networking, knowledge sharing, collaborative projects, and capacity-building initiatives among business communities in Cambodia and Laos, particularly the participants and alumni of CJCC's business training courses, members of the Cambodia-Japan Association for Business & Investment (CJBI), KJL members, and beyond, marking a significant initiative milestone in regional collaboration.
During the opening remark, Dr. Khim Leang, Director of CJCC expressed “I firmly believe that this MoU will lay the foundation for a closer and more fruitful collaboration between our organizations. On a smaller scale, it will bring mutual benefits through a variety of business activities, including Capacity Building, Knowledge Sharing, Collaborative Projects, and business Networking and matching. On a larger scale, this partnership will contribute to the strengthening of entrepreneurship ecosystem and business environment in Cambodia and Laos by fostering business capacity development and partnership opportunity. This, in turn, will enhance economic linkages and drive economic growth in both countries”.
The MOU ceremony was officially conducted on 24 January 2025, witnessed by LJI Management, 27 representatives and business owners from Cambodia, and 15 from Laos. After the signing ceremony, participants from both countries had the opportunity to connect and engaged in business networking. Entrepreneurs from Laos will also spend three days on business study tours of Cambodian companies to learn about the emerging companies in Cambodia.
The Laos-Japan Institute (LJI) is an institution that contributes to the development of human resources in Laos, supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Japan Foundation (JF). Keiei Juku Laos (KJL) is an association of businesspeople and entrepreneurs who have participated in the “Keiei-juku” program, a specialized management skill development program for top managers, following the style of Japanese business.
Meanwhile, the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) has shared a similar mission with the Laos-Japan Institute (LJI) for more than 20 years. CJCC has more than 2,000 business owners and entrepreneurs who have participated in its business development training programs. So, this MOU will be beneficial for business people and entrepreneurs from both countries, it contributes in enhancing economic collaboration between the two nations.
