On June 17, 2025, Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) and 2080 Ventures Holdings, LLC reached a significant milestone by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a collaborative framework aimed at promoting SMEs and startups in Cambodia.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Khim Leang, Director of CJCC, expressed that it was a great opportunity to build a new connection with a prominent organization like 2080 Ventures. He stated, “We hope that through this MOU, both parties will work proactively to support the SME sector in Cambodia, particularly startups.”

On this occasion, Mr. Timur Daudpota, Founding Partner at 2080 Ventures, emphasized that physical connection plays a crucial role in human well-being. He noted, “As technology continues to develop rapidly and we enter the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), maintaining human contact remains vitally important. He stressed; this MOU will help strengthen the connection between our two organizations. Together, we are committed to supporting startups in Cambodia.”

CJCC is a public education institution that focuses on human resource development by offering business training, Japanese language education, and cultural exchange opportunities. Meanwhile, 2080 Ventures is a global startup accelerator and venture builder that supports early-stage companies, particularly in emerging markets. They collaborate with governments, corporations, universities, and investors to help startups grow through mentorship, access to funding, and strategic partnerships.

Through this MOU, the two institutions will collaborate to promote SMEs and startups in Cambodia via networking, knowledge sharing, joint initiatives, and capacity-building efforts under the CJCC Acceleration Program (CJAP). This partnership is expected to foster meaningful dialogue, facilitate business exchange, and create potential partnerships that will strengthen and expand the impact of the CJAP program.
