March 26, 2025: Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) and Dai-ichi Life Cambodia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking a significant milestone in strengthening collaboration between a leading Japanese company in Cambodia and a Cambodian educational institution. This partnership is aimed at empowering Cambodian individuals and businesses by providing essential financial knowledge and professional skills for long-term success.
As part of the collaboration, Dai-ichi Life, a Japanese insurance company with over 122 years of experience in life insurance, will support CJCC in achieving three key objectives:
- Financial Literacy Programs – Equipping individuals and small businesses with the knowledge and tools to improve financial security and make informed financial decisions.
- Japanese-Standard Business Skills Training – Delivering specialized training to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to promote sustainable business growth.
- Cultural Exchange Initiatives – Strengthening Cambodia-Japan relations through language education, business training, and various cultural events.
In the opening remarks, Mr. Mah Kin Yoong, CEO of Dai-ichi Life Cambodia, stated, “This partnership reflects our shared commitment as Japan-owned organizations to Cambodia’s sustainable development by fostering a skilled and financially literate workforce. We are proud to support CJCC’s diverse educational programs and promote greater mutual understanding through cultural initiatives, which will strengthen Cambodia-Japan relations and pave the way for long-term collaboration and growth.”
Dr. Khim Leang, Director of CJCC, also expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “We are excited to expand our financial literacy initiatives with the support of Dai-ichi Life. One of our goals is to provide individuals and businesses with the financial knowledge they need to build a secure financial future. By combining CJCC’s educational expertise with Dai-ichi Life’s financial industry knowledge, we can deliver greater value, create a larger impact, and drive more sustainable development.”
CJCC focuses on three main activities: business and human resource development training, Japanese language education, and promoting cultural exchange between Cambodia and Japan. Meanwhile, Dai-ichi Life is a prominent Japanese insurance company operating in Cambodia. This collaboration is poised to significantly advance the missions and visions of both organizations, providing Cambodian individuals and businesses with greater access to CJCC’s training courses and activities, as well as Dai-ichi Life’s financial, life, and health insurance services.
