On June 14, 2024, the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) organized a certificate awarding ceremony for 216 participants who completed the Entrepreneurship Course from the 21st to the 29th batch. The participants are primarily business owners and businesspeople in Phnom Penh.
In addition to handing over certificates, the event also offered an opportunity to build networks. Importantly, CJCC created the Entrepreneurship Alumni Club (ENAC) to enable participants to communicate and create business networks.
Dr. Khim Leang, Director of CJCC, mentioned that strengthening entrepreneurial capacity and innovation is crucial for all countries, including Cambodia. Supporting startups and SMEs is a priority and part of the government’s strategy to transform Cambodia into a middle-income country by 2030 and a developed country by 2050.
Dr. Leang stated that for over 20 years, CJCC has actively contributed to the government, private sector, and other institutions by providing training related to entrepreneurship, business management, and networking.
The Entrepreneurship Course is a five-month-long program provided by CJCC since 2005. It serves as a platform for imparting entrepreneurial knowledge and skills to Cambodians who aspire to become entrepreneurs or family business owners looking to standardize and systematize their operations. To date, approximately 846 entrepreneurs and business owners have participated in the course. Each term is limited to only 40 participants.
